Hannah Bee Honey
About 40 years ago, Peter's dad discovered a love for beekeeping. Not long after this realization, he found a friend at work who shared his hobby. They partnered up and the rest is history.
Peter grew up around bees, spending many hours in a bee suit helping his dad tend to the hives. Once Hannah entered the picture, it wasn't long before she got involved with the honey hobby as well. Both would help out the dual-family business, from taking care of the hives in the fields to bottling the golden goodness at the end of the process. In 2010, Hannah opened up their first table at the Frankfort Farmers Market while Peter was finishing his final year of college at Purdue. From then on, the pair (along with some wonderful helpers) would be a regular at the Market. The name Hannah Bee formulated as a play on a nickname of Hannah's. Before marrying Peter, her last name began with a B, and as a result, several family and friends always called her "Hannah B." She may be Hannah S. now, but the nickname lent itself nicely to the new honey business. Both proud to be a part of the Farmers Market family, Hannah and Peter love their time spent together under the tent providing honey, wax, straws, candles and soap to all of the wonderful honey patrons. |
